corners of my home

a friend asked me to take some photos of my flat. so, here you are!

even though weddings are not my cup of tea, i saw this beautiful couple's photos (via a cup of jo) and i thought their moment is so much precious also because they did it their way.

some photos of their gorgeous flat on the selby.

the distance the focus the wilderness

photo taken by p in the alpes

this photo provokes so much emotion to me. the wilderness of the background scenery and the tranquility of horses or vice versa if you prefer.

focusing depends so much on what's important for us at the given moment.

in this photo, at the given moment, i can only see the beautiful wilderness of horses underlined by the distant tranquility of the surroundings.

but then, again, this is only my point of view.

ode to smile

have you ever felt that somebody has stolen your smile? lately, this seems to be the case for me. it doesn't really matter how hard i try to bring it back, my sorrow is there in any step i make, in any door i open. it makes my food tasteless and my drink bitter.

losing my smile is maybe the most valuable thing for me and when it's gone i feel i am sinking into an internal dark. it doesn't feel like when the other day somebody stole my wallet off my bag. that didn't touch me an inch. in fact, i woke up next morning and couldn't remember what was that really important thing that had happened to me the previous day.

when your smile abandons you is like the spring of life that everyone of us carries within him/her has dried up. and you feel you can't live without it as you can't live without water.

japan look

hello! i' m all excited today! and it has to do with these two geishas above. they are embroidered and i discovered them in my mum's small attic. it has also to do with the straw hat! summer is close and it's time to redecorate my place. i' m also doing up my balcony, planting, lighting etc. have i told you i have a bit of a view to lycabettus?

i also watched this film. for second time. it's nice when people can appreciate you the way you are. don't you think?

beautiful hats from seeberger. pretty home accessories from moebel kolonie.

last chance

last night i watched this beautiful film. it' s about the true love of an iranian boy for an afgan girl. photography is just amazing. today, i also watched another love film (this period is all about love films; i hope it's nothing too serious). it's called last change harvey; dustin hoffman and emma thompson starring.

some notes here; first, i think i prefer emma thompson brunette. i did some research on her hair colour and i laughed when i read this. second, girl is taller than boy. i love the match though! third, bride and groom don't know how to dance. at least, actors should have taken some dance classes before filming.

however, this film managed to make me cry. it's not super romantic or corny but it somehow touched me! how many chances do we have to get happy in life?

having said that, i think this habitat chair would make me really happy at the moment. also, this beautiful scarf. don't you think?

anyone for a night cuppa?

as a true athenian, there are some spots in the city i show my preference as often as possible. one of them is brettos! it' a rather touristic place as it' s mentioned in most guidebooks about athens and you are very likely to find yourself having shots with aussies or japanese rather than greek people. but i like the place cause of its authenticity as a touristy hot spot. i also get the chance to speak english and meet people from all over the world!

i admit i do get all my visiting friends for a welcome drink here as i adore the place's liqueurs. my loved ones are tentura and masticha, true greek flavours!

if you find yourself in plaka do pay a visit to this quirky liqueur bar!

last but not least, last night i was flicking through burda and i discovered this beautiful online shop. check these gorgeous plastic ribbon woven baskets!

waterfalls - lefkada

giannena

i can't really wait longer! i need to buy my own sewing machine asap! i want to make bags, scarves, skirts etc etc plus some soft toys and kids accessories for my friends' offspring.

i also bought the last issue of burda which is so amazing.. there is so many projects and beautiful fashion! much better than any trendy fashion magazine.

i' m also thinking of getting a bicycle to go around the city. i long for an old one, used, full of memories with a wicker basket at the front.

let's see!

focusing

sometimes i think everything is a matter of focus.

last night i decided that i had enough of heavy, sophisticated films and i watched the wedding planner. i admit it; i had a good time watching it and both jennifer lopez and matthew mcconaughey were too cute.

speaking of focus, i like the part when he says to her "i might not know anything about you but i do know every line on your face...". do we really need more?

dries van noten's summer 2010 collection has become of my favourites. i especially adore this outfit.

britta from stockholm creates beautiful things to decorate our homes and ourselves. have a look here.

i' m off to watch baran by majid fajidi.

nite!

bubble around

i' m in love! yes, i am! and the lucky one is a gorgeous wine. its name is moscato d'asti, it' s italian and it comes from piedmont. it' s sweet and it' s good with desserts and fruits, especially strawberries. it' s fun and light. just as i like it. it sparkles and it allows me to enjoy it in slightly bigger quantities than any other wine due to its low abv.

it has, for sure, all the qualities of a good lover plus it will never abandon you when you need it the most. it only takes you a visit to your nearest wine shop and some euros as it comes in a very good price. my favourite one is made by gancia.

this is an article how to drink this wonderful wine.

enjoy!

easter sunday

doll in traditional greek costume

daisy delight

for greek people, easter is a big festivity, more important and significant than christmas. it involves a long period of fasting ending up in a full day of meat and wine indulgence.

this year easter has been a bit different for me compare to the ones i had in the past. not bad or good, just different. in any case, i think i enjoyed this year's experience of something less traditional, more relaxed and less pompous.

my wish for all people is love and spiritual enlightenment.
